Lifesave Backups - Saving you from disaster

FAQs

Please Contact Us To Discuss How Our Service Can Work For You

Q. How Hard Is It For An Employee To Do This?
A. Very simple. We will assist you with the software setup which can be done over the phone and usually takes about 15 minutes. Once set up your computer will be securely backed up automatically every day.

Q. What Does My Monthly Fee Cover?
A. It covers having your data backed up daily to two dedicated online secure servers, along with any updates of the Lifesaver Backups software (this is usually done automatically). It covers any data retrieval – should it be needed. It will also cover for any calls you may need to make should you require assistance with our service, and for daily email notification of the outcome of each backup. From time to time we will also send a Newsletter to keep you informed.

Q. I Have Insured My Business And I Am Covered For Fire And Theft – Why Do I Need This?
A. You may be covered for fire and theft; however, you probably do not have full and accurate copies of past transactions, financials, payroll, debts, stock levels, quotes, emails etc. Our secure backup service allows you to effortlessly restore all your backed up data so you can get your business back on it's feet and running again.

Q. What Computer Systems Does Your Software Work On?
A. Our backup software runs on all common computer and server platforms including: Windows; Linux, Mac and Netware.

Q. How Secure Is My Data?
A. A great deal of effort has gone into protecting the vital business information of our clients. For a full description of this please view or Security of Data page.

Q. What Is Wrong With Backing Up To CD Or DVD Or Tape?
A. Simply put, human error and faulty media. In the case of Lifesaver Backups, the backup software functions automatically requiring no human intervention, and we maintain multiple copies of your data on our secure offsite servers. Backing up manually to CD, DVD or tape requires that it actually be performed by somebody, and per our surveys this task can be neglected, forgotten and not passed on when the person assigned the role of doing the backups is on holidays, sick or leaves the company. Finally a CD, DVD or tape that is not secured in an offsite location will not protect your data against natural disaster, or theft, this information should be kept offsite in a secure, fireproof facility.

Q. In The Event Of A Disaster, Do I Have To Pay Anything To Restore My Information?
A. No charges are involved in restoring your information, or in relation to technical support regarding the use of our software to backup or restore your vital files.

Q. Can I Use Your Service If I Am On A Dial Up Connection?
A. Dial up speeds are simply too slow to effectively use our service. You need to have a high speed ADSL broadband Internet Service Provider plan. A good demonstration of the speed difference between dial up and faster ADSL plans can be viewed by clicking here.
